10:30 AM:Royal Necropolis of Sakkara

Here, you will visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest pyramid in Egypt and considered the first true pyramid ever built. Explore the pyramid complex and learn about its significance in the development of pyramid architecture.

Saqqara is the necropolis of the Old Kingdom, home to the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the earliest colossal stone monument, built around 2800 BC.

Venture into the complex to discover Egypt’s first ancient columns. Marvel at the vibrant wall paintings dating back thousands of years within the noble tombs. A noble’s tomb, known as a Mastaba, features walls adorned with colorful depictions of daily life in ancient Egypt. Stooping low, you can enter King Teti’s pyramid to behold the earliest sacred inscriptions on its walls. Atop a modest hill in Saqqara, a sweeping view of twelve pyramids unfolds before you.
