The Pyramid of Hawara is a unique attraction in Fayoum, as it is the only one of its kind in the region. It was built by the pharaoh Amenemhat III, who ruled Egypt during the 12th Dynasty. The pyramid has suffered from erosion and looting, but some of its features are still visible, such as the outer limestone casing and the inner chambers that contain the burial shaft and the sarcophagus.

One of the most impressive monuments in Egypt is the Lahun Pyramid, which dates back to the 12th Dynasty and was commissioned by Pharaoh Senusert II. Explore the remains of temples, houses, granaries, and baths. Karanis is located near the modern village of Kom Aushim, about 30 kilometers north of Fayum.
