Proceed to visit the Catacombs of Kom Al-Shoqafa. These are underground chambers where people buried their dead in the Roman period. These catacombs are special because they show how Greek, Roman and Egyptian traditions mixed together in the 2nd Century AD.

You can see many tombs and artifacts, with beautiful and meaningful decorations and writings that tell you more about life in Alexandria in the past.

Your next stop at the Amphitheater itself. Built in the 2nd century AD, it is the largest Roman amphitheater in Egypt and could seat up to 25,000 spectators. It was used for gladiatorial combats, animal fights, and other public events. Today, you can explore the ruins of the Amphitheater, including the stage, seating area, and vomitoria (exits).
